In a move aimed at enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the vicinity around the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), Giza Governor Ahmed Rashid has instructed the chief of the al-Haram district to embark on a significant infrastructure development initiative. This will encompass a complete refurbishment of the buildings' facades flanking the museum's roadways.

Emphasizing Giza's transformation due to an array of national projects, Rashid spotlighted GEM as the pinnacle, which, in conjunction with other infrastructure endeavors, is poised to redefine the district as a magnet for both tourists and investors.

In his dialogue with the al-Haram district head, Rashid also underscored the urgency of liaising with metro agencies. This collaboration would expedite waste clearance, continue excavation activities, and eradicate any impediments at the metro's fourth line project sites, thereby ensuring optimal traffic flow.

Encompassing a sprawling 500,000 square meters, the GEM, in close proximity to the iconic Giza Pyramids, will be a beacon of Egypt's rich legacy, boasting the world's most extensive single-culture antiquities collection. With a special spotlight on 5,000 artifacts from Tutankhamun’s treasure trove, the museum will unveil 2,000 pieces to the public for the first time.

Strategically located near the Giza pyramids and the New Administrative Capital, the GEM serves as a majestic portal, bridging Egypt's illustrious past and promising future.
