GIZ Egypt, and the UN Habitat organized a joint event under the theme of "Inclusive, and Resilient Cities" to address the means of a fair Urban transition in Egypt. The event was part of the Egypt Urban Campaign.
The main targets of this event was establishing a multi-party dialogue about the opportunities and the facilities of widening the urban expansion to provide a better environment and housing for the people.
Mario Sander, the head of Middle East Administration at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), participated in the event.
Sander asserted that the German government has a long term commitment to improve the living conditions, especially in slums. The cooperation with the Egyptian government led to key successes and achievements in various projects which positively benefited the Egyptian life in the Urban areas.
He also thanked all parties for their efforts in enhancing environmental frame, infrastructure, and social basis for the Egyptians in a way that appreciates every Egyptian, and gives them care.
Urban development is one of the key and strategic domains for the BMZ and the projects of equality and social development, and developing the urban infrastructure are two examples of the deep rooting Egyptian - German cooperation.
