A young boy who left the conflict in Ukraine was honoured as a guest of honour at a professional football match, according to BBC.
Daniel, 11, was honoured by the team and fans of Gillingham Football Club on Monday during their game against Fleetwood Town.
The youngster and his mother, Yana, have been living with a family in Folkestone, Kent, for two weeks after fleeing their home near Lviv in western Ukraine.
Daniel described himself as "extremely excited" following his big day out. "You have all been very kind to me," he said, thanking the club and supporters.
Malcolm Bell, Daniel's host, stated that one of the boy's wishes upon arrival in the UK was to witness a live football match. He had anticipated Daniel would be mentioned during the League One encounter.
The club, on the other hand, arranged for Daniel to meet the squad, be shown around Priestfield Stadium, and walk out onto the pitch with the team's captain.
"Daniel is overwhelmed, very delighted," Mr Bell said. Daniel's brother is a member of the Ukrainian army fighting in the battle with Russia, while his father is a member of the territorial army.
