The 67-year-old Ghostbusters star, Rick Moranis, was punched in the head and left injured in the street after an unprovoked assault which was caught on camera in Manhattan on Thursday.
Videos showed a mystery man hitting Moranis and knocking him over in broad daylight just before 7:30 a.m. on Central Park West near 70th Street.
Surveillance cameras captured the attack of the actor showing the suspect, ironically wearing an “I Love New York” sweatshirt, walk up and punch Moranis in the head, knocking him to the ground.
Police mentioned that the actor went to the hospital with pain in his head, back, and hip. However, he was doing well.
“He just wants to stay home have peace of mind,” Officer Jonadel Dorrejo said.
Meanwhile, the search continues for the suspect. Police are asking the public to be on the lookout.
The star appeared in the sketch comedy series such as ‘Ghostbusters’, ‘Ghostbusters II’, ‘Spaceballs’ and ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’.
