Get to Know Today’s Cairo Industry Days Activities

Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) continues its Cairo Industry Days activities. Saturday’s schedule carries various panels, masterclasses, and open discussions.

At the begining, there is an open discussion with "The Father" Rufus Sewell. He will be interviewed by Raya Abirached at the Cairo Opera House at 11 am.

Next, there is a masterclass with the Palestinean director Hani Abu Saad, and the Egyptian director Marwan Hamed.

Its theme will be reviewing the directors’ careers from their earliest steps to international fame. The session will be on 5 December at 12:45 pm at the Cairo Opera House.

Regarding today's panel, Egyptian filmmaker Hala Galal will moderate a discussion under “Ethical Consciousness: Interrupting or Advancing the Artistic Process.” It will be organized at the Cairo Opera House at 2:30.

Sponsored by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the session will see the participation of director Ayten Amin, director Yosry Nasrallah, scriptwriter Dina Negm and Christina Rosendahl, a Danish film director.

Moreover, the Deputy Representative at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)-Egypt Germaine Haddad will take part in the event.

Industry Days

Another masterclass that will take place today is "What Makes Script a Global Hit-Showcases and Hands-on Advice How to Make Successful Adaptations."

It will be presented by Eccho Rights executive director Fredrik AF Malmborg at Cairo Mariotte hotel at 4 pm.

At 6 pm, a meeting with the team of the independent production company The Population. The Tale’s producer Mynette Louie,  Nomadland’s producer Mollye Asher, and Housemaid’s producer Derek Nguyen will be there.

The discussion will be moderated by María Raquel Bozzi who is the Senior Director of Education & International Initiatives at Film Independent. Film Independent is one of the main sponsors of the Cairo Industry Days.
