Get to know Table Standings of AFCON's Groups

After the first round of the group stage ended, SEE presents table standings of AFCON's groups.

Group A:

On Friday, June 21, the hosts made an ideal start of the AFCON by defeating Zimbabwe with unanswered one goal.

On the following day, Uganda’s Cranes clinched their first AFCON victory in 41 years after they beat DR.Congo’s Leopards with unanswered two goals.

This win put Cranes top of Group A in one-goal difference from Pharaohs.

The hosts will face DR Congo on Wednesday, June 26 (22:00 CLT),  while Uganda will play their second game against Zimbabwe on Wednesday, June 26 (19:00 pm CLT).

Table Standings Group A

Group B:

Nigeria topped Group B after the Super Eagles snatched a narrow victory over debutants Burundi (1-0) on Saturday, June 22.

Later on the same day, Madagascar marked their first appearance in this glorious tournament with a draw against Guinea with two goals each in what can be described as the best match of the tournament so far.

Nigeria will play their next game against Guinea on Wednesday, June 26 (16:30 CLT), while Madagascar will face Burundi on Thursday, June 27 (16:30 CLT).

Table Standings Group B

Group C:

Algeria moved a level with Senegal at the top of Africa Cup of Nations Group C, after the Desert Warriors earned a routine victory over Kenya 2-0, while Senegal defeated Tanzania 2-0.

Next, Algeria will play against  Senegal in a battle for the top position on Thursday, June 27 (19:00 CLT), while Kenya will face Tanzania later that day (22:00 CLT).

Table Standings Group C

Group D:

Morocco moved a level with Ivory Coast after both teams pulled off victories over Namibia and South Africa in the first round of AFCON's group stage.

In a battle for the top position, Atlas Lions will face the Elephants on Friday, June 28 (19:00 CLT), while Bafana Bafana will seek their first three points in the tournament against Brave Warriors.

Table Standings Group E

Group E:

Mali topped Group D after the Eagles produced a dominant display to defeat debutants Mauritania (4-1). While Angola earned a 1-1 draw with Tunisia in the first round.

Next, Mali will take on Tunisia on Friday, June 28 (16:30 CLT), while Mauritania will face Angola on Saturday, June 29 (16:30 CLT).

Table Standings Group E

Group F:

Reigning and defending champions Cameroon started their campaign of defending their Africa Cup of Nations crown with a victory over Guinea-Bissau in Group F, while Benin earn a 2-2 draw with tournament favourites Ghana in Ismailia

Ghana will face Cameroon on Saturday, June 29 (19:00) CLT, whereas Benin will play their next game against Guinea-Bissau later that day (22:00).
