The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts pleasant weather to prevail in most parts of the country, during daylight hours on New Year's  Eve, Saturday.

Moderate weather is also expected to hit South Sinai, Red Sea Mountain trail, and South Upper Egypt.

The country will also witness mist on agricultural and highway roads.

There are chances of rainfall prevailing in Cairo, North Sinai, Lower Egypt, North Coast, Suez Gulf, and Canal Cities.

Strong mist will prevail on all highways near Cairo, Lower Egypt, northern coast, Canal cities, Sinai, and the north of Upper Egypt.

Meanwhile, moderately cold weather is set to hit most of the country, at nighttime, turning to cold toward the end.

Extremely cold weather will also prevail in the Northeastern Coast, Red Sea Mountain trail, and North Upper Egypt.

Dr. Manar Ghanem, EMA media center member, told reporters that the decline in temperatures will continue, therefore, cold weather will prevail in at night and early morning.

The temperatures at night in Great Cairo will range between 10-11°C on the New Year's Eve.

In addition, severe cold could be felt in the north of Upper Egypt, new cities, central Cairo, and Sinai.

Ghanem added that the north coasts and the north of Lower Egypt would witness light and moderate rain.

Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 20°C in Cairo, 20°C in Alexandria, 19°C in Matruh, 21°C in Sohag, 22°C in Qena, and 22°C in Aswan.
