The real estate sector topped the ranking of the sectors traded on the EGX in terms of trading volume during the week’s transactions, with a market cap of EGP 1.1 billion and a turnover of 636.1 million shares.
Bank Financial Services
The non-banking financial services sector came in the second spot with a turnover of 767.5 million shares, valued at EGP 704.9 million. While the banking sector came in third with a trading value of EGP 421.05 million and a turnover of 10.5 million shares.
Textiles and Durable Goods
The textiles and durable goods sector came in fourth place, with a circulation of 251.5 million shares, valued at EGP 420 million.
Health Care (HEL)
The Health Care & Pharmaceuticals came in the fifth spot with a turnover of 162 million securities, valued at EGP 408.7 million.
Food, Beverage & Tobacco
In sixth place, the food, beverage and tobacco sector came with a circulation of 59.5 million executed transactions worth EGP 399.6 million.
IT, Media & Communications Services
The communications, media and information technology sector came in seventh place with a tunover of 21.7 million shares worth EGP 241.1 million.
Basic Resources
In eighth place came the basic resources sector with a circulation of 33.7 million shares, valued at EGP 234.9 million.
Contracting & Construction Engineering
The ninth place was reserved for the contracting and engineering construction sector with a turnover of 248.9 million, valued at EGP 178.1 million.
Trade & Distributors
As for the ninth place, it came to the trade and distributors sector with a 30.1 million turnover at a value of EGP 155.9 million.
Education Services
The educational services, transport and freight services sectors were ranked in the last two places, respectively. The first had a turnover volume of 1.7 million shares worth EGP 20 million, while the latter witnessed a circulation of 8.2 million shares worth EGP 13.6 million.
