Telegram has rolled out a number of new features, including the sign-up process as users will not require any phone number to create an account.

“Today we're expanding your control over your digital footprint into the future. You can now set a global auto-delete timer to automatically remove messages in all new chats,” Telegram said in its blog post.

“Existing chats will not be affected, but you can easily expand your auto-delete settings to any of them from the new menu in Settings > Privacy & Security > Auto-Delete Messages," it added.

Moreover, the platform developed Topics for groups with more than 100 members, so that they would be able to open in a sleek two-column mode. It will allow users to switch to the latest topic directly and save some time.

Telegram recently announced an update for its free and Premium subscribers, offering transcriptions of video messages. This feature was previously limited to voice messages and now it is effectively expanding to videos as well.

Last June, Telegram launched its paid subscription after announcing its premium service at a cost of $4.99 per month.

To celebrate its 700 million monthly active users, the social media platform rolled out its premium service which comes loaded with additional features exclusively available to its paid users.

By paying a monthly fee, users will get double limits than usual Telegram users, 4GB file uploads, exclusive stickers, faster downloads as well as improved chat management among other things.
