Germany's Thyssenkrupp Probes Establishing Green Ammonia Factory in Egypt

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly expressed Egypt's interest in launching new and renewable energy projects in cooperation with the German steel company ThyssenKrupp.

This came during a virtual meeting with a of Thyssenkrupp's delegation in the presence of the company's CEO Oliver Tietze.

Madbouly said that the government agreed to proceed with the procedures of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the German company to implement the proposed project to set up a plant with the aim of exporting green hydrogen and green ammonia to Germany.

Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker, who was also present during the meeting, said that Egypt has huge potentials that enable it to be a center for the production and export of green hydrogen and ammonia.
