Egypt's Foreign Minister (FM), Sameh Shoukry, affirmed that Egypt is following up on the current developments in the Ukraine crisis with great concern.
This came during his meeting with his German counterpart, Annalena Baerbock, in Cairo.
On her part, German official the German Foreign Minister stressed that her country is doing its best to find a solution to the Ukraine crisis, pointing out that the German chancellor will visit Moscow and Kyiv on Monday and Tuesday.
Moreover, the German top diplomat stressed that any aggression against Ukraine would have very serious consequences, in light of the increase in Russian troops along Belarus's border with Ukraine.
Baerbock also explained that her country will keep the embassy open in Ukraine, yet it will issue a travel warning, urging its citizens to leave Ukraine immediately.
It is worth mentioning that Baerbock’s two-day visit to Egypt comes as part of her Middle East tour, which included Israel, Palestine, and Jordan, where she discussed the Israeli-Palestinian peace process in light of the crucial role played by Egypt and Jordan in this regard.
