German media reported several injuries in a stabbing attack that took place in the city of Oberhausen, western Germany, on Thursday evening.
The local reports quoted the local police, in the city, that some victims had required treatment in the intensive care units.
"Five people were injured in the attack,” informed sources said, while the police noted that “The attack seems to be a family dispute.”
A police spokesperson said in the nearby city of Essen, "The five, including the attacker, were treated in hospital, and at least one was seriously injured."
Later, it was reported that the German authorities had arrested one suspect in the attack, while the "West Dutch Guemeni Zeitung" newspaper reported that some of the victims were in critical condition and "their lives are in danger.”
Moreover, some German news sites also reported that the suspected perpetrator was wounded while in intensive care. The nature of the weapon used in the attack is not yet clear.
