German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier is scheduled to visit Jordan this coming Wednesday, following an official visit to Lebanon.

The trip is part of a regional tour aimed at discussing Middle East developments and strengthening bilateral cooperation with Germany's regional partners.

President Steinmeier is set to meet with King Abdullah II of Jordan to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations, regional developments, and ongoing efforts to achieve stability in the region.

The German President will begin his itinerary in Jordan with a visit to the SESAME Center (Synchrotron-light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East), a center of excellence for science and research. There, he will meet with researchers and review prominent scientific projects, underscoring Berlin’s support for regional research and scientific cooperation.

Furthermore, he will inspect a registration center operated by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to observe the mechanisms for registering and supporting refugees, in light of Jordan’s significant humanitarian role.

The visit will also include a stop at the German Jordanian University (GJU), where the President will tour the German Language Center and the Faculty of Innovation.

He is also expected to meet with students and faculty members, reaffirming the depth of academic cooperation between the two nations.
