German police announced today, Friday, that 8 people were killed and several others were injured - some of them seriously - as a result of the shooting that occurred in a church in the northern city of Hamburg, and the perpetrator is likely to be among the dead.
The German police said - according to the American network (ABC News) - that they believe that there is only one port of the shooting incident, and it may be the person who was found dead in the building.
While the possible motive behind the shooting, which took place on Thursday evening, in the second-largest German city, which German Chancellor Olaf Scholz described as a "brutal act of violence", has not yet been announced.
"Several members of the Jehovah's Witnesses (a dissent Christian sect) were victims of brutal violence last night," Schultz wrote in a tweet, adding: "My thoughts are with them and their loved ones," according to the Spanish newspaper, La Pangordia.
