The German government launched its own Instagram channel on Thursday, Steffen Hebestreit, government spokesperson, announced.
Hebestreit pointed out that the press and information office of the German government will handle the task of editorial supervision of the channel, which bears the name "Federal Government."
Through this channel, the office will inform citizens of government policy.
Meanwhile, the government aims to reach young users in particular.
It is worth noting that the office's social media editorial team also oversees German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's Instagram account, which is followed by about 1.90 million people. Scholz also owns a separate Instagram account being an MP for a constituency.
