German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock traveled to Israel to discuss the humanitarian situation of the population in Gaza, call for the delivery of more aid to the population of Gaza, and demand Israel to provide the necessary protection to the civilian population in Rafah.
Baerbock met with her counterpart, Israel Katz, while the talks in Jerusalem is likely to focus on the ground attack announced by the Israeli army against Hamas in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
Birbock is also seeking to hold separate talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and opposition leader Yair Lapid. A meeting with President Isaac Herzog is scheduled for Thursday.
