German Foreign Minister (FM) Annalena Baerbock will travel to Israel on Monday, amid growing concerns about the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
A spokeswoman for the Foreign Ministry in Berlin said that, in addition to the war in Gaza and the ongoing catastrophic humanitarian situation there, the path towards a two-state solution will also be a topic, as it was during previous trips.
This is Baerbock's eighth visit to Israel since the October 7 attack. She was last there on April 17 and met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at that time.
According to the spokeswoman, Baerbock will first participate in the regular meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg on Monday, which will focus on joint support for Ukraine in its defense against the Russian aggression and the situation in the Near and Middle East.
