German Chancellor Olaf Scholz welcomed the agreement reached on a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages.
In a post on the platform "X" today, Scholz emphasized the "importance of implementing this agreement to the letter, ensuring the release of all hostages, including German nationals, and returning the remains of the deceased to their families for a dignified burial."
He highlighted that the ceasefire paves the way for a permanent end to the war and for improving the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Scholz affirmed that efforts will continue to achieve these objectives.
