The German government announced on Sunday that Chancellor Olaf Scholz will participate in the G7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan, from May 19 to 21, 2023.
In a statment, the German government stated that the summit will focus on the situation in Ukraine, the global economy, foreign and security policy, economic resilience, security, and joint efforts to achieve sustainability and climate protection.
It will also be an opportunity to hold bilateral talks between heads of state and government on the sidelines of the summit, the statment added.
Following the G7 summit, the German Chancellor will visit South Korea on May 21, and will discuss with South Korean President Yoon Sok Yol geopolitical, regional and global issues.
