On Monday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that he tested positive for COVID-19.
Scholz posted on X that “with few symptoms, I am counting on a mild case.”
Olaf's Spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit said the chancellor will keep his duties in his office and communicate by phone and videoconference but wouldn't have any public duties.
The German authorities added that the visit of Slovakia's new prime minister was canceled.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was scheduled to meet Scholz in Berlin on Tuesday, Hebestreit said.
