The German ambassador in Cairo, Jurgen Schulz, said that relations between Egypt and Germany date back to a long history of many decades, and are based on partnership and close friendship.

He emphasized that relations between the two countries encompass numerous levels, noting that many high-ranking German officials have visited Egypt, including the Foreign Minister, the Chancellor, and the President, who attended the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum. He added, "We view Egypt as a strong partner in the region, and we are committed to strengthening our relations with it, particularly through strategic dialogue."

He added in a press conference held Wednesday afternoon that economic cooperation is one of the most important areas of collaboration, noting that 1,600 German companies operate in Egypt, and that trade volume reached €6 billion in 2025. He also pointed out to the growing interest among German companies in expanding their investments in Egypt. He further mentioned that some German companies have been operating in Egypt for many years, such as Siemens, which recently celebrated its 125th anniversary in the country. He also noted that the German-Egyptian Chamber of Commerce, the second largest chamber in terms of membership, has been established for 75 years.

The ambassador also touched on cultural and scientific cooperation, describing it as "valuable cooperation," pointing out to the desire of both sides to strengthen relations at the university and school education levels, as the first German-Egyptian school was opened last year as part of the "One Hundred Schools Project".
