German Ambassador to Cairo Jürgen Scholz expressed his pleasure at attending the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum as Germany's Ambassador to Egypt, and celebrating Egypt's rich history and culture.
He emphasized that this exceptional museum is a symbol of the close cooperation between Egypt and Germany and our shared commitment to preserving humanity's cultural heritage.
In a statement to the Middle East News Agency (MENA) on Tuesday, Scholz said that the German design office had significantly contributed to the design of the museum's exhibition spaces, enabling it, along with the Egyptian side, to create a unique museum experience. He pointed out that one of the museum's most prominent features is certainly the Tutankhamun exhibition hall, which will open soon and will display the whole tomb's treasures for the first time.
He explained that the tour, designed by the German design office at the exhibition, resembles a dramatic spatial journey through the life of the god-king, his coronation, his death, and the afterlife.
