Egypt's Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry said that Egypt has been involved in the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) negotiations in good faith over the course of a whole decade.
In press statements, the minister stressed Egypt's permanent willingness to negotiate to reach an agreement that meets the interests of all.
He was responding to comments from his Ethiopian counterpart Gedu Andargachew who said - in an AP interview on Friday - that Egypt referred GERD file to UN Security Council to "escape negotiations".
Moreover, Shoukry challenged Ethiopia to immediately resume negotiations if it declared commitment to its international obligations to not act unilaterally by filling the dam.
It is worth mentioning that, Egypt accused Ethiopia of "warmongering" on Sunday in an escalating dispute over Ethiopia's plan to start filling a massive newly-built hydroelectric dam on the River Nile.
In an interview with the Associated Press, Shoukry accused Ethiopian officials of stoking antagonism between the two countries.
