Secretary-General of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, met with Dr. Maksym Subkh, Ukraine's Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, in Brussels on Monday.
Their discussion focused on various issues, primarily the latest developments in the Russia-Ukraine crisis, on the sidelines of the Brussels IX Conference on Syria.
Al-Budaiwi, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), highlighted the mediation efforts and initiatives undertaken by the GCC states to contribute to a political solution to the crisis. He reaffirmed the GCC's commitment to supporting all international and regional efforts to resolve the conflict through peaceful means.
For his part, the Ukrainian envoy praised the significant efforts of the GCC in mediation, as well as its humanitarian and relief aid contributions to the Ukrainian people.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Subkh extended an invitation from Ukraine's Foreign Minister to the GCC Secretary-General to visit Ukraine in the near future.
