Jasem Al-Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), expressed his appreciation to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his commitment to strengthening cooperation between Egypt and the GCC, particularly in the energy sector.

Speaking at the Egypt Energy Show "EGYPS 2026," held under the theme "Energy Transition through Effective Partnerships and Practical Implementation," he emphasized that the relationship between the two sides is built on historical and fraternal ties, as well as a shared vision focused on deepening economic partnerships.

Moreover, Al-Budaiwi noted that the success of the Egyptian-Gulf Forum for Trade and Investment—held last year and resulting in several investment initiatives—exemplifies the effectiveness of this shared vision in advancing economic ties.

He further expressed the GCC’s aspiration, in coordination with Egypt, to organize the first Egyptian-Gulf Energy Conference in 2027, aimed at fostering further partnerships in this vital sector.

Addressing regional security, the Secretary General touched upon the repercussions of recent Iranian aggressions against GCC countries, asserting that they pose a direct threat to global energy security. He warned that the impact of such actions transcends the GCC region, calling for concerted international efforts to protect energy corridors and maritime navigation.
