The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on Tuesday urged the international community to act immediately and collectively to pressurize Israeli occupation forces to halt their aggressive violations on Palestinian territories, threatening the lives of innocent civilians.

Jasim Al-Badiwi, Secretary-General of the GCC, emphasized that "the continuation of reckless attacks and provocations undermines the prospects for peace and contributes to the escalating cycle of violence in the region, necessitating immediate international intervention to end the crisis."

He highlighted that the expansion of Israeli military operations to include Rafah following the Gaza Strip endangers the lives of many Palestinians and directly threatens regional peace and security.

The GCC reaffirmed its steadfast position in support of the Palestinian cause, referring to a statement from the 44th extraordinary meeting of the GCC ministerial council, which reiterated the call for an international conference involving all relevant parties to discuss all issues related to the Palestinian issue.

The aim is to find a solution based on ending the Israeli occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
