Gaza Peace Council: Deploying Int'l Stability Force Is a Crucial Step Toward Peace, Reconstruction

Gaza Peace Council confirmed that recent developments represent a highly significant step forward in bringing peace, prosperity, and development to the Gaza Strip.

It noted that the International Stability Force will play a pivotal role in expanding humanitarian services and supporting reconstruction efforts.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Council explained that these efforts will contribute over the coming months to taking practical steps toward introducing a new model of governance and security. This will be accompanied by providing economic opportunities that foster stability and enhance development in the Strip.

Nickolay Mladenov, Gaza Peace Council representative, welcomed the steps taken by the Israeli government to enable the deployment of the International Stability Force in the Gaza Strip, considering them an essential component of the agreed-upon framework to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2803.

In a statement, Mladenov said these measures would support stabilization efforts in the Strip, contribute to demilitarization, and pave the way for transitioning Gaza's administration to an effective transitional Palestinian authority under the supervision of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza.

He added that the current priority is to ensure progress in implementing the 20-point plan for Gaza, including the execution of the roadmap presented by the mediators, thereby guaranteeing the implementation of agreed arrangements and sustainable stability.
