The media office of the government in the Gaza Strip announced today (Friday) that at least 12,000 Palestinians, including five thousand children, have been killed in Israeli air strikes on the Strip since October 7, according to Reuters.

The office said in a statement: “The number of martyrs of medical personnel reached 200 doctors, nurses, and paramedics, 22 civil defense personnel were martyred, and 51 journalists were also martyred, while the number of injured exceeded 30,000, more than 75 percent of whom were children and women.”

The Gaza government statement added: The number of missing persons reached more than 3,750, including 1,800 children who are still under the rubble.

Since October 27, Israeli forces have continued ground operations on the ground inside the Gaza Strip.

The war caused the displacement of more than 1.65 million people inside the Gaza Strip, out of a total population of 2.4 million, due to the bombing, and also after Israel’s warnings of the necessity of leaving the northern Gaza Strip towards the south.

In light of the “permeable siege” imposed by Israel on the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war, thousands have not find shelter, and a major humanitarian crisis continues in light of a severe shortage of food supplies and an interruption of drinking water.

The World Food Program (WFP) warned yesterday, Thursday, that the population in Gaza faces “the immediate possibility of starvation” in the Gaza Strip, where “food and water supplies have become practically non-existent.
