U.S. President Joe Biden affirmed that a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip is still possible before he leaves office at the end of this year.
In an interview with CBS News, Biden stated that a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel remains achievable, noting that "the plan I developed, which was approved by the G7 and endorsed by the United Nations Security Council, is still viable."
He added, "I work every day with my entire team to ensure that the situation doesn't escalate into a regional war, but it's easy for that to happen."
Regarding the upcoming election, Biden said, "I made my decision so that the Democratic Party can fully focus on its urgent mission, which is preventing former President Donald Trump from reclaiming the White House."
