The Minister of Industry and Trade Nevin Gamea said on Sunday that the resumption of local exhibition activities after a 6-month hiatus due to the spread of COVID-19 represents an excellent opportunity for the producer and the consumer alike.

She noted that these exhibitions contribute to promoting and marketing national products and increasing the competitiveness of the Egyptian product in addition to providing distinguished products in the local market at competitive prices that suit all Egyptians.

This came during the inauguration of  “Welcome Schools” exhibition, which is being held at the Cairo International Conference Center during the period from 20-27 September under the auspices of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, in the presence of the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali El-Moselhy and the participation of 300 companies.

Gamea emphasized that the exhibition represents an excellent opportunity for parents to obtain all school supplies for all educational levels, including school uniforms, bags and school tools, as well as food supplies for students, with discounts of no less than 20%.

She indicated that the state is keen to maximize the value and quality of Egyptian products at competitive prices, in a way that contributes to strengthening the national industry as one of the main pillars of the economy, by holding commodity exhibitions that meet the needs of the local consumer at affordable prices, especially in light of the difficult circumstances that have arisen. following the corona crisis.

Gamea stated that the ministry is striving to encourage the establishment of more investment projects in the field of manufacturing school supplies and tools, with the aim of providing them locally and reducing dependence on imports from abroad, supporting the ministry's current approach to substituting imports with local products.
