The body of the Syrian director Hatem Ali was taken from the Zeinhom morgue, Thursday, to the actor Gamal Soliman’s home in Cairo, before being transferred to Cairo Airport in order to be shipped on a Damascus plane.
“The dead body of Hatem left the Zeinhom morgue about an hour ago, after completing the legal procedures and final permits,” Soliman said in statements to Egyptian media. “The body is currently at Cairo airport in preparation for its transfer to Syria in a plane at six in the evening, in company of his sons.”
Soliman mentioned that Ali's sons came to accompany the body of their father until its final resting place.
The Syrian director died of a heart attack in Egypt, at the age of 58.
Celebrities took to social media to express their outpouring grief for the late director, including Aïcha Ben Ahmed, Olfat Omar, and others.
He directed many famous series including “El-malek Farouk”, “Hagar Gohanam”, “Aho Da Elly Sar”, “Ahl al-Gharam”, “Kaeno Embareh”, and “Taht el Ard”.
