GAFI Approves Projects for "IDG" in E-Square Industrial Zone

Mohamed Abdel-Wahab, Chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) approved 22 new projects for the Industrial Development Group (IDG) in the E-Square 6th of October Industrial Zone, with a total capital exceeding EGP 600 million.

Abdel-Wahab directed the zone's executive office to quickly implement the necessary procedures to facilitate the operation of the approved projects.

This came during a meeting of the Board of Directors of IDG, in the presence of the Group's Managing Director Shady William, where the two sides discussed cooperation to establish a vocational training center and transfer technology within the zone.

On his part, William said that the IDG was able to provide logistical services and land allocation to about 140 investors, of which one-third are foreigners, praising the good investment climate in Egypt.

William added that the company manages and develops an area of ​​22 square kilometers in the cities of 6th of October, New Alamein and East Port Said.

Meanwhile, GAFI Chairman made an inspection tour of the industrial zone in 6th of October City, including a number of operating projects in order to follow up the production movement, discuss opportunities and challenges with investors, and to discuss their expansion plans.

The tour included a visit to the "PFN" project for the production of non-woven fabrics, which exports 50% of its products, and the project of the Engineering and Services Technology (East), which specializes in providing services and innovative solutions to companies.

Abdel-Wahab said that GAFI is developing its services to further promote the investment climate, represented in providing consultations, solutions and studies to investors, as well as facing new challenges with sustainable mechanisms, in addition to cooperating with the concerned authorities in the field of cadres training and building labor capabilities.
