G7 Summit: Sisi, Trump Hold Discuss Strategic Partnership, Regional Peace in Evian

​President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met, on Wednesday, with US President Donald Trump, in the French city of Evian, on the sidelines of the G7 Summit.

​Mohamed El-Shennawy, Official Presidential spokesperson, stated that the meeting addressed the distinguished bilateral relations between Egypt and the United States.

During their meeting, Sisi was keen to extend his congratulations to the US President on the upcoming celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Independence of the United States.

In this context, President Sisi emphasized Egypt's commitment to continuing to advance and develop the existing strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States across various fields, considering these deep-rooted relations a cornerstone for regional stability and peace.

For his part, US President highly valued this, confirming his country's looking forward to further strengthening Egyptian-American relations and elevating them to broader horizons across various sectors.

In this regard, it was agreed to intensify the ongoing political consultation and coordination between the two countries on various files to promote peace and prosperity in the region.

​The official spokesperson indicated that the meeting also touched upon regional issues. TIn this context, Sisi congratulated the US President on the success of his efforts in reaching an agreement with Iran, emphasizing the importance of this agreement paving the way toward ending war and escalation in the Middle East.

Moreover, he noted that this reflects the US President's capability to resolve conflicts around the world, and highlighted Egypt's readiness to exert all efforts, in cooperation with regional and international partners, to support this endeavor and achieve sustainable solutions to various outstanding issues.
