​G7 Summit: Sisi, Brazilian Counterpart Hold Talks in Evian

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, on the sidelines of his participation in the G7 Summit held in Evian, France.

​Mohamed El-Shennawy, official Presidential spokesperson stated that the meeting addressed the overall bilateral relations between Egypt and Brazil. 

Sisi expressed great pride in the historical ties binding the two countries, emphasizing Egypt's keenness to strengthen these relations and all existing consultation frameworks between both sides. He also highly valued the ongoing joint efforts to implement the outcomes of the Strategic Partnership Agreement signed between the two countries in November 2024, noting the remarkable growth in trade exchange between them in recent years.

​For his part, Lula da Silva expressed his pleasure at meeting President Sisi once again, welcoming the momentum witnessed in the relations between the two countries, especially given that Egypt is Brazil's most important trade partner in the African continent. 

Moreover, The Brazilian President also praised the growing cooperation frameworks between the two countries following Egypt's accession to the BRICS bloc, as well as the Strategic Partnership Agreement and the Free Trade Agreement between Egypt and the Mercosur bloc. 

Furthermore, he emphasized the necessity of continuing efforts to increase the volume of trade exchange between the two nations, despite it recently surpassing $5.5 billion.

​The spokesperson further indicated that the two presidents also discussed joint cooperation in international forums. 

For his part, the Brazilian President expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Egypt and President El-Sisi aimed at restoring stability to the Middle East, underscoring his country's support for Egypt's approaches, which prioritize reaching comprehensive, sustainable, and peaceful solutions to crises in both the Middle East and the African continent.

​At the conclusion of the meeting, the two leaders agreed to maintain continued coordination and consultation at all levels between both countries in the coming period.
