Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida received the leaders participating in the summit of the Group of Seven industrialized countries(G7), which began today, Friday, in the city of "Hiroshima", located in the west of the country.
The summit continues over the three days to come.
The Japanese Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) stated that the leaders of the G7 Group visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, where they saw exhibits on the devastation left by the nuclear bomb that was dropped on the city in August 1945.
The visiting
foreign leaders also laid wreaths on the memorial to the victims of the. the atomic bombing in the year 1945.
The Japanese channel added that during the summit, many issues will be discussed, including the global economy and the Ukrainian crisis, in addition to nuclear disarmament.
It noted that Kishida hopes to show the unity of the G7 Group in the face of the Russian military operation on Ukraine and the rapid expansion of China's global influence.
