On Wednesday, the G7 Foreign Ministries issued a "unified message" regarding the current escalations in Gaza, calling for a humanitarian truce in Gaza, and the start of a "peace process," according to Japan's Foreign Minister.
The statement came after two days of meetings to discuss the current situation in Gaza and the military escalations of the Israelis against the Palestinians, asserting the need to protect the civilians.
Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa said: "I believe it's important that the G7 was able to put out its first unified message as a statement... regarding a humanitarian pause and a future peace process, both in terms of the responsibility the G7 has towards the international community and for Japan as this year's chair of the G7."
The G7 includes Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United States, with the European Union which participated in the summit.
