G20 leaders issued a joint statement during a summit in Brazil on Monday, advocating for "comprehensive" ceasefires in both Gaza and Lebanon.
The heads of the world's largest economies supported a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, as proposed by the United States, contingent upon the release of all hostages.
Additionally, they called for a ceasefire in Lebanon that would allow citizens to safely return to their homes on both sides of the Blue Line.
Israel's military actions in Gaza and Lebanon are escalating tensions in the region, potentially leading to a broader conflict, according to Saudi Arabia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
"The continuous Israeli military operations in Gaza and Lebanon have resulted in unparalleled human suffering, driving the region towards a larger war and eroding the credibility of international law and institutions," Prince Faisal said in his opening address at the session.
