Fuel and gas trucks have begun crossing into Gaza as part of an Egyptian humanitarian aid convoy, according to sources at the Rafah border crossing.

There was heavy movement at the crossing on Wednesday, with aid convoys heading toward the Karem Abu Salem and Nitzana crossings — the two entry points designated to receive the trucks. The shipments include essential fuel supplies needed to sustain hospitals, water facilities, and other basic services in the war-torn enclave.

Before entering Gaza, the trucks undergo inspection and verification procedures imposed by Israeli authorities. Israel announced on Tuesday that it would only allow 300 aid trucks to enter — half the number agreed upon under the previous arrangement, which provided for 600 trucks daily.

Despite these restrictions, Egypt continues its efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, particularly fuel shipments, which have faced repeated delays. Egyptian authorities emphasized that their work to ensure the steady flow of assistance will not stop, despite ongoing challenges.

Israel has permitted the entry of limited quantities of fuel and gas to meet urgent humanitarian infrastructure needs, while Egypt maintains coordination to guarantee that aid reaches Gaza through designated border points.
