French President Emmanuel Macron will start tomorrow a tour of four African countries, namely Gabon, Angola, Congo Brazzaville, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

President Macron delivered a lengthy speech yesterday from the Elysee Palace, presenting "France's strategy for partnership with African countries" and "the path he will take" in his second five-year term, two days before the start of his tour in Central Africa.

The French presidency stated that Macron must define his “vision of partnership with African countries” and the “path” that he intends to follow during his second term.

"Today, African countries choose their partners freely and sovereignly, and this is a good thing," said Chrisola Zakaropoulou, Secretary of State in charge of Development, Francophonie and International Partnerships at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, who will accompany the French President on his tour.

She believed that anti-French sentiment in French-speaking African countries prompted Paris to change its attitude towards more listening.
