French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed today, Saturday, that he "supports" the proposal announced by his American counterpart, Joe Biden, for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Macron stated in a tweet on the social media platform "X": "The war in Gaza must stop. We support the comprehensive agreement proposed by the United States, and we are working with our partners in the region for peace and security for all."
He emphasized the importance of releasing hostages held in Gaza and achieving a permanent ceasefire to work towards peace and progress in the two-state solution.
On Friday, US President Joe Biden announced that Israel had presented a "new comprehensive proposal" that provides a roadmap for a ceasefire in Gaza and the withdrawal of its forces from the sector if the hostages held by Hamas are released.
