French Foreign Ministry spokesman Pascal Confavreux said France does not recognize Somaliland and remains committed to the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
In press statements, the spokesman reaffirmed France’s support for Somalia’s unity and rejection of any steps that could undermine the country’s sovereignty or territorial integrity.
The remarks came in response to questions regarding the opening of a diplomatic office for Somaliland in Jerusalem.
