The French Foreign Minister confirmed that Egypt plays an important role in the efforts and discussions aimed at reaching a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and releasing the hostages.
This came in a tweet published by the French Foreign Minister on his account on the “X” platform, today (Saturday), following his discussions that he held today in Cairo as part of the ongoing diplomatic efforts to stop the escalation in the region.
He published pictures of the meetings he held during his visit to Cairo with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, and wrote, “Discussions with President El-Sisi and with Minister Badr Abdel-Aty...Egypt plays an important role in the discussions aimed at reaching a ceasefire and releasing the hostages the hostages." He added, "We continue to work together to avoid escalation in the Middle East.”
The French Minister arrived in Cairo as part of a diplomatic tour in the Middle East that included Lebanon, then Israel and the Palestinian territories.
