Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy lost an appeal against a ruling issued in 2021 convicting him in a case of corruption and abuse of influence before the Court of Appeal in Paris.

The court upheld a 3-year prison sentence for Sarkozy, two of which were suspended.

Sarkozy was convicted in March 2021 on charges of corruption and abuse of influence and was sentenced to 3 years in prison, including two years suspended and one year in force, and he was allowed to be detained in a house wearing an electronic bracelet.
