French Ambassador to Egypt Éric Chevallier said that France’s immediate priority is to deliver essential humanitarian aid — including food, water, medicines, and winter supplies — to the people of Gaza, as the humanitarian situation in the enclave continues to deteriorate.

According to Al Qahera News, Ambassador Chevallier stressed that “the urgent priorities today include ensuring access to clean water, food, and vital items to prepare for winter, such as tents, warm clothing, medicines, and medical equipment.”

He explained that these needs represent the first phase of France’s humanitarian response, while the next phase will focus on early recovery. “That includes providing oxygen devices, X-ray machines, and wheelchairs for the injured, as well as generators and other equipment necessary to restore essential services in Gaza,” he said.

Chevallier emphasized that France is working in close coordination with Egypt to achieve these goals, outlining a two-pronged approach: the first involves the direct delivery of aid to Gaza — including food, medicine, and blankets — and the second supports Egypt’s efforts to assist Gazan patients by strengthening its healthcare capacity to receive and treat those evacuated from the Strip.

The ambassador expressed hope that the Rafah border crossing would reopen soon “to facilitate the passage of humanitarian cases into Egypt and ensure the continuous flow of aid and supplies into Gaza.”

France has been among the countries actively engaged in diplomatic and humanitarian efforts to support civilians affected by the conflict, reiterating its call for unfettered humanitarian access and protection of civilians in accordance with international law.
