The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday that it has summoned the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Paris, following the strikes carried out late last week.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Ministry explained that "in light of recent developments and what it described as threats affecting Ukrainian civilians and certain foreign diplomats, it was decided, at the request of the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, to summon the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to France."
The statement added that France expressed concern over what it regarded as a "violation of international law," noting that these developments reflect the difficult situation on the ground in Ukraine.
France renewed its call for an end to the conflict in Ukraine, reaffirming its commitment to defending European security and continuing its support for Kyiv.
