France condemned in the strongest terms, on Monday, the drone attacks launched yesterday, Sunday, against the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant in the United Arab Emirates, stressing the need for them to stop immediately.
France warned that attacks against operational civilian nuclear facilities could jeopardize their safety and security, calling on all states to comply with their obligations in this regard, particularly concerning international humanitarian law, according to a statement by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
Expressing its full solidarity with the authorities and people of its strategic partner, the United Arab Emirates, France affirmed its total commitment to contributing to the defense of UAE territory and reiterated its unwavering support for the security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of its partners in the Middle East.
Furthermore, France recalled its ongoing commitment to finding a diplomatic solution to the crisis with Iran, emphasizing that a strong, durable, and verifiable agreement is the only way to restore peace and avoid a new regional escalation.
