The French Ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro, reaffirmed his country’s unwavering support for Lebanon as it faces the devastating repercussions of the war, which has resulted in thousands of casualties and displaced over one million people.

Moreover, the Ambassador renewed France's support for Lebanon's sovereignty and the consolidation of state authority, emphasizing that weapons must remain exclusively in the hands of the state.

He also asserted that France will continue to stand by Lebanon across all sectors.

These remarks were made during a reception hosted by the French Ambassador at the Pine Palace on the occasion of the French National Day, held under the theme "In Service of the Lebanese People."

Furthermore, Magro announced that since March 2, 2026, France has allocated €17 million in emergency assistance, in addition to sending 100 tons of humanitarian aid to support vital sectors.

Additionally, the French Ambassador announced a €75 million loan to Lebanon to contribute to the reconstruction of war-affected areas, particularly in the water and energy sectors, while reiterating France's backing for economic and financial reforms, as well as the restructuring of the banking sector.
