French President Emmanuel Macron will travel to the Lebanese capital Beirut for the second time since the Beirut Blast earlier this month. The upcoming visit is scheduled to be on September 1st, according to the Elysee Palace statement on Wednesday.
Macron’s last visited Beirut aftermath the Beirut port explosion, which resulted in more than 180 dead, 7 thousand injured, and a number of missing.
Macron called for a special forum to support Beirut, and he was the first foreign leader to visit Beirut in the wake of the explosion.
He also proposed a "new political initiative" to Lebanese leaders, pledging that his country's aid would not go to "corrupt hands."
During her previous visit to Beirut, in addition to meeting with Lebanese President Michel Aoun, aZthe French Minister of Armed forces, Florence Parly stated that Lebanon can rely on France.
