In a joint statement on Wednesday, Foreign Ministers of France, Germany, and United Kingdom (UK) welcomed the mediation efforts by Egypt, Qatar, and United States (US) to extend the ceasefire in Gaza, reaffirming their continued support for the agreement between Israel and Hamas.

According to the statement published by the British government, the ministers emphasized the importance of maintaining the ceasefire, ensuring the release of all hostages, and guaranteeing the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The three ministers urged all parties to engage constructively in negotiations for the next phases of the agreement to ensure its full implementation and achieve a permanent end to hostilities.

The statement described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as catastrophic, expressing deep concern over the Israeli government’s recent decision to halt the entry of all goods and supplies into the territory.

Moreover, the ministers called on the Israeli government to uphold its international obligations by ensuring the full, swift, safe, and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. This includes the provision of essential supplies such as medical equipment, water, and sanitation materials, which are crucial for humanitarian relief and early recovery efforts but face restrictions under Israel’s "dual-use" regulations.

They stressed that humanitarian aid should never be conditioned on a ceasefire or used as a political tool, emphasizing the necessity of allowing Gaza’s civilians—who have suffered immensely—to return to their homes and rebuild their lives.

In conclusion, the three foreign ministers reaffirmed the need for all parties to uphold the ceasefire, ensuring it leads to lasting peace, the reconstruction of Gaza, and a credible path toward a two-state solution where Israelis and Palestinians can coexist peacefully.
