France denounced, on Monday the Russian missile strikes and drone attacks that targeted the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.

In a statment, French Foreign Ministry condemned the attack "in the strongest terms", adding that it had claimed the lives of at least two people and left several injured, in what it called a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

"These unacceptable acts constitute war crimes and cannot go unpunished," the ministry added in a statement.

It is worth mentioning that, Russia unleashed waves of air strikes on Kyiv overnight in what officials said appeared to be the largest drone attack on the city since the start of the war, as the Ukrainian capital prepared to celebrate the anniversary of its founding on Sunday.
